Dr. Sopon Iamsirithaworn, Director of the Division of Communicable Diseases said that the disease prevention and control measures for Thai returnees are being strictly implemented. All returnees have to be quarantined to observe their symptoms for 14 days and will be tested for COVID-19 twice to ensure they cannot spread the disease within the nation. If an individual is sick or gets infected, they will be referred to receive appropriate treatment immediately. However, people were concerned that Thailand may face a second wave of COVID-19. It is important for people to strictly practice their self-protection measures including wearing a face mask/cloth mask every time when leaving the residence or staying in public places, frequently washing their hands, keeping space between others and eating fresh and cooked food with personal serving spoons. Avoid visiting crowded places and please check-in with the entry-exit registration by the “Thai Cha Na” digital platform every time you use those services. Those including the businesses owners, public and private organizations have to give cooperation to strictly maintain their disease prevention measures which are recommended by the government to protect and keep the situation in Thailand in low level. If the second wave occurs, Thailand’s public health system is ready to support the care and treatment of the people. The Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) asks for cooperation from people to not forward, share, or believe fake news from unknown sources of information. People can follow the correct and reliable news from the Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) and MOPH.
